We held our end of year meeting session with our first cohort of 12 widows enthusiastically in partnership with the Nain Woman, an organisation whose focus is ‘empowering families, one widow at a time’ as their mission suggests. Fourteen widows were privileged to get food baskets and the speaker encouraged them with the story of Sarah, who had to wait for a long time for her child Isaac. The widows were encouraged to hold on to God’s promises even though they may tarry, He has preserved them for a purpose and therefore they should put their hope and trust in God their provider. They also got to interact with other widows from the Kibera community and shared their life experiences as they challenged and encouraged each other to live a positive life.
