Children’s Garden Home and School Director’s Testimonial

My name is Mr. Moses Ndugu, director of Children’s Garden Home and School. Since 2001, we’ve provided a home and education to less fortunate children, initially from nearby slums like Kibera, Kawangware, and Kangemi, and now from across the country.

Life here is challenging but full of purpose. The children wake up at 4 a.m., start their day with morning preps, and follow a structured routine. As a private institution, we face significant challenges, especially in funding books, teacher salaries, food, medical care, and building facilities. We rely on the generosity of well-wishers to keep going, dedicating every donation to the children’s needs.

Thanks to the Tabasamu Project and the Swahiba team, for the first time in our history, all our children received shoes and socks. This gift means the world to us. Providing shoes for all is something we’ve never been able to afford, and it fills us with gratitude to see the children looking so happy and confident.

For many children in slums, walking barefoot is a harsh reality. Projects like Tabasamu bring hope and dignity, showing these children they are seen and valued. This act of kindness is a beacon of hope, reminding us that step by step, these children can dream of a brighter future.

We thank everyone involved in this initiative and encourage you to continue supporting children in need. Your generosity changes lives, and one day, these children will look back and remember the kindness that helped them rise. May God bless you for your compassion and support.
