Harkening to the Great Commission and quite literally journeying to the “ends of the earth,” a dedicated mission team from First Baptist Cleveland, Tennessee stepped out of their comfort zones to serve alongside the Swahiba Networks team in the heart of the Kibera slums. Their presence among us was a powerful testimony of faith in action, humility in service, and love expressed through tangible ministry.
During their time in Kenya, the team poured themselves into holistic outreach that touched lives across generations. They trained pastors, equipping and positioning them to lead healthy, thriving churches within their communities. Teen leaders were strengthened and encouraged through the teaching of God’s Word, while boys received mentorship and guidance grounded in faith and character.
One of the most moving expressions of Christlike love was the washing of the feet of vulnerable children each child also receiving new socks and shoes as a sign of dignity, care, and hope. The team also visited widows in their homes, where they prayed with them, offered heartfelt encouragement, and distributed food baskets to meet urgent needs. These acts, along with many others throughout the week, reflected a deep commitment to compassionate, relational ministry.
We remain profoundly grateful for this partnership and for every team member who chose to put their faith into action becoming the hands and feet of Christ among those living in the margins. Through such holistic expressions of love, we continue to witness the expansion of God’s Kingdom in communities often overlooked yet deeply cherished by Him.
The call remains open. We warmly invite churches, teams, and individuals to step out in faith and join what God is doing through Swahiba Networks. Come serve, pray, give, or send as the Lord leads.
