My three-month journey at the Mentorship and Empowerment Program (MEP), from February to May 2024, has been truly transformative. I came in looking for skills, but I am leaving with direction and purpose. During this time, we covered communication skills, career guidance, personal branding, computer skills, financial management, and crochet. What I am gaining is not just a certificate, but confidence, practical tools, and a supportive community.
Thanks to Mr. Peter, Jentrix, and Diana, I am leaving better prepared to build, serve, and empower others. These three months taught me that skills are only the beginning; what truly matters is how we use them. The communication training helped me learn how to express myself boldly and confidently. Financial management changed the way I handle money, while computer skills and personal branding gave me tools to create opportunities for myself and others.
As I complete this program, I am not leaving with just notes and certificates. I am leaving with a plan: to apply at least one skill every week, to continue growing, and to pass on what I have learned to others. True empowerment multiplies when we share it, and thanks to MEP, I am ready to do exactly that.
Darren and 153 other girls are now equipped and ready for their next step in life. Supporting them through internships, job opportunities, mentorship, further career development, education support, and seed capital would be a great investment in their future and communities.
