Tabasamu: Beyond Shoes, Bringing Hope During the Festive Season

What began as a program to distribute shoes to the needy during Christmas while sharing the Good News of the season has grown into so much more. From the very beginning, Tabasamu recognized that for some families, food was a more immediate need than shoes. In such cases, we provided both shoes and food, ensuring their most pressing needs were met. Today, Tabasamu continues to extend its impact by providing food baskets to families most in need those who might otherwise go without a meal during this festive season.

This week, in partnership with our generous donors, we delivered food baskets to the most vulnerable families. Some of these beneficiaries are already part of our other programs, including Tabasamu, Jitambue Purity Program, Mentorship and Empowerment, First Priority, and Widows for Widows. The joy and emotion on their faces as they received these gifts were truly heartwarming.

One of the beneficiaries shared her story:

“I am a resident of Kibera and have been walking with Swahiba for a while now. I am so grateful for their support in providing food, supporting my children’s education, and empowering my daughter with skills after high school. She now knows how to cook and bake, which allows her to earn an income.

Swahiba has been a pillar of encouragement and prayer in my life. They even went out of their way to buy me a mattress and cooking gas when I needed them most. As a single mother, life has been tough, but well-wishers like Swahiba and their partners have made all the difference. Their support has brought significant change to my life. God bless you.”
